Pleasures of This World. Balls
Another meeting from the “Pleasures of This World” series has passed, dedicated to the old balls, ballroom fashion, and social customs. In the Jan Potocki Center for Traditional Education, in the former Orangery, on the last Monday of the carnival season, curator Bożena Lauzer presented the history of the ballroom, such as the Ballroom and balls in France, England, and Poland.
“Pleasures of This World” is a series of events using multimedia to present painting, photography, graphics, films, and music to illustrate such past events as balls, hunts, travels, and social gatherings – races, visits, etc. Presentations, primarily aimed at young people, students, and high school students, are part of the cultural and educational program of the Orangery and Riding School renovation, within the project “Protection and development of the cultural heritage of the former Łańcut Ordynacja through restoration and conservation works and the creation of new exhibition spaces OR-KA II, III, IV, VII”.
