“The Quiet Room” in the former Orangery

1 September 2023

In January 2023, we inaugurated a quiet room for children, youth, and adults. Visitors to our museum with reduced social functioning, who may need a moment of silence, rest, or relaxation to alleviate tension, can now find solace in this space. The room was created in one of the premises previously used as part of the Jan Potocki Center for Traditional Education, located in the former Orangery.

The adaptation of the room in the former Orangery became possible thanks to the implementation of the “Key – Museum Accessibility Program” project, within the framework of the Culture Without Barriers project, carried out by the State Fund for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities as part of the Operational Program Knowledge Education Development for 2014-2020.

The grant awarded to the museum for the project amounted to 229,180.68 PLN.

The “Key” program comprises various activities aimed at enhancing the accessibility of cultural offerings and museum facilities for individuals with special needs, including those with disabilities. The target audience also includes families, caregivers, therapists, specialists, and members of the museum’s local community.
